Bridgework: Case study – adhesive bridges
 

This young lady has lost her first upper right premolar but did not want the adjacent teeth cutting back to provide a standard fixed bridge. There is very little width of the remaining bony ridge and this would have needed a graft prior to implant placement.

On biting there was a space behind the adjacent canine. This is a very strong tooth with long roots and, after a very minimal preparation without anaesthetic, impressions were taken.

The bridge was cemented after two weeks using a special bonding system from Nexus.

The lady is delighted to have her tooth back with so little clinical intervention.
