Our Expertise as a leading Dental Implant Centre There are a few elite implant systems with long-term scientifically proven products and techniques such as Branemark (Nobel Biocare), ITI / Straumann and Friadent / Xcive. These have now been joined by several other companies notably Dentsply / Degussa (Ankylos) and Astra. John Moorhouse has training and accreditation in all the above systems starting with Branemark (1994). He is tutor on the Diploma in Implant Dentistry run by the Faculty of General Dental Practitioners, Royal College of Surgeons, UK since January 2004 and has lectured and been a clinical tutor on the Faculty's Diploma in Restorative Dentistry course since 2005. Made an honorary teaching fellow in Implantology at the Manchester Dental Hospital in 2006, he lectures on their Implant MSc course He has been holding hands-on courses for postgraduate dentists in the Manchester Dental Education Centre from 2003. John retired in 2008 as Director of the North-western division of the Faculty of General Dental Practitioners, Royal College of Surgeons of England but retains his place on the board. He holds three day courses on Implantolgy for the Faculty. As a member of the Association of Dental Implantology, John attends National and International advanced seminars and courses to stay abreast with this rapidly developing subject. Referrals John accepts referrals from over 70 other dental practitioners in the North West for implant placement and restoration. He also visits dental practices in the North of England (as far off as Windermere and Hull) to assess implant patients and carry out the placement surgery.
